The first Ubuntu Phone smartphone will be launched in Europe in February

The first Ubuntu Mobile Phone goes on sale in Europe in the second week of February.
Manufactured by the Spanish company Bq, this phone will be the first Ubuntu Phone sold directly to consumers.

For its first Ubuntu Phone, Bq launches reoriented version of its combined Aquaris E4.5 preloaded with the Ubuntu operating system for mobile.
Unlike the version that developers can download and install on Nexus devices, the commercial version of Ubuntu will come with a number of differences in the new aggregator software such Scopes and support of paid content.
Certainly the Aquaris E4.5 smartphones is not the latest high-end smartphone but it is a reliable and competent mobile. These qualities are necessary for the debut of Ubuntu and find the balance between price and performance so that developers and enthusiasts can buy it and "tinker" with.

As for pricing, Canonical did not give details but according to some estimates, buyers will not pay more than € 149.

Looking to the future

Bq only sell their phone Ubuntu in Europe via their website.
In the future, it is likely that the company Bq Launches 4G version with Ubuntu Aquaris Model 5 model later in the year. The model is slightly larger than the E4.5 and has an IPS screen HD display and a slightly faster processor.
