Convert a Word or Excel document to PDF

To distribute your documents on the Internet, the PDF is certainly the most suitable. Or if OpenOffice offers to save your PDF documents, this is not the case of software of Microsoft Office suite such as Word or Excel.

By offering a specific plug-in, Microsoft added the PDF support to its 2007 Office suite (requires validation to verify that your Microsoft software is genuine). But what about the previous versions: Office 2000, XP, 2003, 2007?

To correct this, one method is to use a free tool such as PDFCreator using the print function of Word or Excel to convert your documents to PDF. Usable possibility actually in any software.

1-Download and install PDFCreator
2-Convert a document to PDF.

PDFCreator is installed as a printer. To convert a document to PDF, you just have to print it simply with this special printer.

2-1-Open the document to convert to PDF with Word or Excel.

2-2-Click the File menu and click Print.

2-3-Scroll down the list and choose the printer PDFCreator printer.

2-4-Click the OK button.

2-5-PDFCreator opens a configuration window in which you can give a title to the document, name of the author, ...

2-6-Click the Save button.

2-7-Then specify where to store the PDF file and click the Save button

Your document is converted to PDF and opened with your usual PDF reader. You can then distribute your document in this new format.
